As December approaches, Portugal transforms into a Christmas paradise, with its cities and towns celebrating this magical season with stunning Christmas fairs and markets. In 2023, the country is ready to host a variety of events that promise to enchant visitors of all ages.
  1. Christmas Market at Praça da Batalha, Porto Organized by Mercado da Alegria, this market lights up with the presence of Santa Claus, offering stalls of gastronomy, crafts, clothing, and much more. It will be open from December 1 to 30.
  2. Porto Christmas Market At Avenida das Tílias, in the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, this market features a variety of traditional and regional products, including sweets, jams, honey, and crafts. It will operate from December 1 to 23.
  3. Santa Maria da Feira The Perlim Christmas market, inspired by the four seasons, offers an ice rink, circus, crafts, and daily shows at Quinta do Castelo. This event will be available from November 24 to December 30.
  4. Wonderland, Lisbon At Parque Eduardo VII, Wonderland returns with the Ferris Wheel, Eco-Friendly Skating Rink, Santa’s House, carousels, and other attractions, accompanied by stalls of crafts and Christmas delicacies. The event occurs from November 30 to January 1.
  5. Rossio Christmas Market, Lisbon This market in the historic center of Lisbon brings stalls of crafts, gastronomy, concerts, and a festive atmosphere. It also includes a free ride on the Christmas train. It will be open from November 17 to December 23.
  6. Alvalade Christmas Market Avenida da Igreja hosts this event, featuring Santa Claus and offering an excellent opportunity to find original gifts. It operates from December 6 to 17.
  7. Kingdom of Christmas, Sintra At Parque da Liberdade, Terreiro Rainha D. Amélia, and NewsMuseum, the Kingdom of Christmas includes a charity market, amusements, train rides, videomapping, and concerts. Admission is free, and the event runs from December 1 to 30.
  8. Vila Natal, Cascais This event in Cascais features a small market, train, Santa’s house, enchanted forest, carousel, and ice rink, from November 30 to January 2.
  9. Mercadinho Domus, Loures This charity event in Loures invites visitors to make a donation of goods in exchange for roasted chestnuts and água-pé. It will be open from November 25 to December.
  10. Christmas Market in Braga Located at Praça Conde Agrolongo, this market promotes artisans, artists, booksellers, and local producers. Available from December 1 to 24.
